Don't Put The Blame To Others

Early this morning during my shift in NICU i was doing the routine task. Then the doctor showed up to do her daily rounds (i will just call her Dra. Pretty since she’s cute and bubbly). Then she asked me to call the local line in pedia ward and ask if she have patients to be discharged. I followed her and called, “nurse unbecoming” answered the phone. Then i asked if dra. Pretty have patients to be discharged, i repeat whatever she says so that dra. Pretty will hear it. Then our conversation ended. Dra. Pretty wrote orders in charts then proceeded to the ward. After an hour nurse unbecoming called and then passed the phone to dra. Pretty. She said why i didn’t tell her about this certain patient that is to be discharged. I then got confused for i know, and my co-staffs here at NICU knows that i just repeated what nurse unbecoming said. Then i justified myself. Dra. Pretty went back here at NICU and personaly asked me. My co-staff nurse gay-echusera said that he answered a call from nurse unbecoming and it is about that patient to be discharged. Too much confusion!! Nurse gay-echusera is a guy and i am a girl, my voice does not sound like a guy, nor nurse gay-echusera’s voice sounds like a girl. Duh! Dra. Pretty said why would nurse unbecoming mention my name and said that i was the one whom she endorsed about dra. Pretty’s patient where in fact nurse gay-echusera was the one she spoke to. Hmz.. Nurse unbecoming is my batch mate, we entered this hospital and trained here together. Dra. Pretty clarified that she is not angry with me, it’s just that i should be careful with nurses like nurse unbecoming whose fond of blaming others to cover up for her own mistakes.
