I hate OB and Pedia that is why when i got to learn that i was assigned at NICU i some how felt bad and today is my first day at NICU.

I am not one of those girls who express how they find those itsy bitsy babies super cute (duh!) maybe because i am the youngest child and i get easily irritated on how babies cry, how kids ask stupid questions, and how they do stuffs just to get attention. And surprisingly, i kinda enjoyed my duty today.. (What!?).

I just realized that, one of these babies might be a famous person someday, or maybe some might give a big help to humanity. And being part of their lives – catching them upon their birth, suction their secretions, present them to their exhausted mothers, bathe them, change diapers, feed them – means so much. I mean, who would care to search for the nurse who took care for them in their first days of their lives (there may be none) but what is important for me is the personal satisfaction i get when i put these babies into sleep, make them feel comfortable and attend to their needs. It makes me feel great and it makes me proud because i gave my care to those who might be a hero in the future.
