Oversupply of Nurses

I’ve been a RN for about a year yet i am still for final evaluation at hospital X (today is our evaluation). Landing a job as a nurse is so hard because of a tight competition. There are 400,000 jobless registered nurses today (that is according to PRC) and only 60,000 registered nurses are employed in both public and private sectors.

The demand for nurses decreases as the supply increases. Our government must act now over this problem. A lot of nursing schools have been established and courses like Practical Nursing becomes popular. RNs are having a hard time finding a job, what more would it be for practical nurses?

On the other side, hospitals are taking advantage of the nurse surplus. They ask for a fee in entrance exam and in trainings that range from 1,500php to 10,000php.

This is really a head aching problem!!
